Megan on Set

Currently filming in Hollywood of the North, Vancouver

I thought with Juno being officially released on DVD Tuesday that it was only appropriate to talk about what is. It’s everyone’s favorite little stripper turned hit indie sensation screenwriter Diablo Cody newest project helmed by Karyn Kusama, famous for her writing and directing Girlfight in 2000. This project is none other than the slasher thriller deemed Superbad meets The Exorcist, Jennifer’s Body.

The story follows a cheerleader, Needy our 17-year-old narrator and protagonist (Megan Fox) in a sleepy town whose perfect life goes haywire when her friend becomes possessed and begins killing the young men in town who lust after her.

Spielberg’s DreamWorks has gotten the rights to a movie from Japan and plans to make it into a thiller in 3D!

The movie, “Ghost in a Shell”, follows the adventures of a covery ops unit of the JNPSC (Japanese Naitonal Public Safety Commission) who specialty is fighting technology type crimes. The movie was originally made in 1989 by Masamune Shirow. It was a huge success and went on to make two additional manga editions, three anime movies and an anime TV series. The movie is also responsible for three video games based on its content!

Avi Arad (responsible for producing the likes of Spider-Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four and other comic related movies), Ari Arad and Steven Paul of Seaside Entertainment have signed on to produce and brought the project to DreamWorks. Jamie Moss has been assigned to do the adaptation for the new version.

There were other studios with high interest in the project but Spielberg himself took special interest in the project and made it property of DreamWorks.

‘Ghost in the Shell’ is one of my favorite stories,” Spielberg said. “It’s a genre that has arrived, and we enthusiastically welcome it to DreamWorks.”

DreamWorks invisions this movie to be a forefront for digital 3D experience action movies. Should be interesting! Knowing Spielberg’s work, he won’t disappoint.

Chris Tucker And Jackie Chan Are At It again

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008 at 4:54 pm

Looks like Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan will be teaming up for another movie. This however, will not be another Rush Hour film.

The two actors apparently had a sit down recently were they both decided that they wanted to do another movie together, but only if it wasn’t another Rush Hour.

“I said yes, and after I shook Tucker’s hand, I said: ‘Look, we need a middleman. I don’t want to shake hands, then I go back to Hong Kong and you stay here, I get busy and you get busy,’ ” he recalled. “You have to have somebody in the middle to follow up, otherwise it will never happen.

“We’ve just agreed to do it,” he added. “Now we’re looking for the writer.”

No other details about the to be filmed flick have been released. I like these two together and I’m sure it will be full of comedy and martial arts.
