Michael Johns From American Idol Has A Lot Of Fans

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008 at 3:25 pm

Michael is still an American Idol

Even though Michael Johns was just voted off of American Idol, he still has tons of fans!  He was mobbed by people wanting autographs and pictures as he left the Regis and Kelly Show yesterday.

It just goes to show, you don’t necessarily have to win American Idol to become a star.  In fact, we all know that some of the most successful idols have been those who didn’t take home the big prize.  Just think of Kimberly Locke, Blake Lewis, and Katharine McPhee.  I mean, even William Hung who didn’t make it past the first round, got more exposure than many struggling artists will see in a lifetime.  Sad, but true.

The Wackness - Movie Stills

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008 at 2:50 pm

wackness1

On behalf of Sony Pictures Classics, I wanted to pass along the stills and official synopsis for their upcoming release, THE WACKNESS, opening July 3, 2008.

It’s the summer of 1994, and the streets of New York are pulsing with hip-hop and wafting with the sweet aroma of marijuana–but change is in the air. The newly-inaugurated mayor, Rudy Giuliani, is beginning to implement his anti-fun initiatives against “crimes” like noisy portable radios, graffiti and public drunkenness. Set against this backdrop, Luke Shapiro (Josh Peck) spends his last summer before college selling dope throughout New York City, trading it with his shrink (Ben Kingsley) for therapy, while crushing on his step-daughter (Olivia Thirlby). Famke Janssen, Mary Kate Olsen, and Method Man round out the cast in this edgy, bittersweet, and funny coming of age story.

Trailer here.

Michael C. Hall Dating His Dexter Sister

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008 at 2:40 pm

Ok, first off, let me ask this…am I only the only one who finds Dexter to be creepy yet hot?!? Maybe I’m just weird :) Anyways, it’s been reported that Michael C. Hall, who plays Dexter is dating his on screen sister, Jennifer Carpenter. A source says,

“I don’t see what the big deal is. They play brother and sister on the show, but they are actors, after all.”

The new couple was spotted having a nice meal together last week at the Sunset Tower Hotel,

“It was romantic,” says an observer of their back-of-the-restaurant dinner. “They were drinking champagne and there was the clinking of glasses. They were clearly celebrating.”

I think they Jennifer and Michael make a cute real life couple, although it is sort of hard to imagine because of the whole being related on TV thing.

The Hulk Official Movie Poster

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008 at 2:06 pm

incredible_hulk_poster

I’m a huge fan of Ed Norton… and I mean HUGE. So when I saw the new poster for Hulk, I just had to share. The first one was ok, but I have a feeling the sequel is going to be much better. Not typical for Hollywood - but how can you go wrong with Ed?

‘The Incredible Hulk’ kicks off an all-new, explosive and action-packed epic of one of the most popular superheroes of all time. In this new beginning, scientist Bruce Banner (Edward Norton) desperately hunts for a cure to the gamma radiation that poisoned his cells and unleashes the unbridled force of rage within him: The Hulk.

Living in the shadows–cut off from a life he knew and the woman he loves, Betty Ross (Liv Tyler)–Banner struggles to avoid the obsessive pursuit of his nemesis, General Thunderbolt Ross (William Hurt), and the military machinery that seeks to capture him and brutally exploit his power.

As all three grapple with the secrets that led to The Hulk’s creation, they are confronted with a monstrous new adversary known as The Abomination (Tim Roth), whose destructive strength exceeds even The Hulk’s own. And on June 13, 2008, one scientist must make an agonizing final choice: accept a peaceful life as Bruce Banner or find heroism in the creature he holds inside–The Incredible Hulk.

The release is right around the corner.
