George Bush To Be On “Deal or No Deal”

Monday, April 21st, 2008 at 4:08 pm

Yeah, you read it right. George Bush has just confirmed that he will appear briefly on the show, “Deal or No Deal” to deliver a message to Captain JOSEPH KOBES, a Purple Heart and Bronze Star recipient who served three tours in Iraq. I find that rather touching and I can only hope that Joseph wins the million dollars.

President George Bush will be on the special 2 hour episode of, “Deal or No Deal” tonight. Good luck to Joseph Kobes! Will anyone be watching tomorrow? What do you think about having George Bush on the show?

Katherine Heigl On The Set Of “The Ugly Truth”

Monday, April 21st, 2008 at 2:46 pm

Here’s Katherine Heigl on the set of her movie, “The Ugly Truth” which is being filmed in Los Angeles. The movie is about:

A romantically challenged morning show producer (Heigl) is reluctantly embroiled in a series of outrageous tests by her chauvinistic correspondent (Butler) to prove his theories on relationships and help her find love. His clever ploys, however, lead to an unexpected result.

I admit that I do enjoy a good chick flick, if you know, it’s GOOD. I have to wait for the trailer to decide if it’s going to be one of those great girly films with the hot Gerard, or a bad cheesy one with a hot Gerard. Either way I’ll end up seeing it.

“Pineapple Express” Is Going To Be GREAT!

Monday, April 21st, 2008 at 2:07 pm

If you adore Seth Rogen like I do and think James Franco is a good actor that is way underused then your going to LOVE, “Pineapple Express”. I’ll ask two questions and if the answer to them is yes, then you’re going to be as excited as I am. If you answer is no then you probably want to skip this trailer.

1. Did you love and/or enjoy “Superbad”?

2. Did you enjoy stoner humor and/or odd action flicks?

“Pineapple Express” stars James Franco, Seth Rogen, and Rosie Perez and it’s about:

A stoner and his dealer are forced to go on the run from the police after the pothead witnesses a cop commit a murder.

Seth stars in and also co-wrote the script to this movie. Which makes me love him that much more. Thankfully it’s coming out relatively soon and we can all see it August 8th. Click here to view the trailer.

Is American Idol Done?

Monday, April 21st, 2008 at 1:09 pm

after-american-idol-its-time-for-vietnam-idol_14

“American Idol” has been on for 7 seasons now and for sure it’s left it’s mark on Hollywood. Just think of Shrek and Barbie, both of them using the American Idol theme song and continuing the growing follow of Idol. However as most of us know shows lose their shine after a few years and most of them end up being canceled, or completely re-changed. The question being, is American Idol ready to throw in the towel?

The Nelson ratings show that Idol has lost over a fifth of the female demographic between the ages of 18-34. It might not sound like a big deal, but women are the biggest constituencies. Mariah Carey one of Pop musics biggest stars ended up being the lowest rated Tuesday show in 5 years. Wednesday’s show where they gave the boot to Kristy Lee Cook was the lowest rating Wednesday since the first season. Of course Idol still brings in around 29 million viewers and for a show on it’s 7th season that’s amazing.

Beckman a producer for the show said that, “We have to think about how it’s presented,” and,“These are questions you naturally ask when a show is in its seventh year.” Which of course begs the question, what is going to happen next year? What changes will they make? A new judge perhaps?

Do you still watch American Idol? How many think it’ll continue being a huge hit? Will it decline? I know that I’ve watched the show for a few years now and I’ve enjoyed it for the most part. However, this last season has been a big bore for me. I still TiVo it, but I don’t have an urge to watch it right away and find that more often then not I’m viewing it a week later.
