Jet Li, Crystal Liu, Li Bingbing and Jackie Chan and the rest of the main cast of ‘The Forbidden Kingdom’ attended a press conference prior to the world premiere of the film. I LOVE Jackie Chan and kung fu movies… so if I don’t make it to see this movie on opening weekend, someone is going to die.

An American teenager who is obsessed with Hong Kong cinema and kung-fu classics makes an extraordinary discovery in a Chinatown pawnshop: the legendary stick weapon of the Chinese sage and warrior, the Monkey King. With the lost relic in hand, the teenager unexpectedly finds himself traveling back to ancient China to join a crew of warriors from martial arts lore on a dangerous quest to free the imprisoned Monkey King.

PS, I love how Jet Li can now put on his resume that he was a Monkey King. :)

“The Strangers”

If you like scary, creepy movies then this one is for you. I myself am not so fond of the ghost/demon movies, or anything that involves humans eating humans, but a good scary guy coming to get me is my kind of movie. I just saw the trailer for this movie and OH. MY. GOD. I. CAN’T. WAIT! It stars the lovely Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman and will hit theaters May 30th of this year. Here’s the plot line:

After returning from a wedding reception, a couple staying in an isolated vacation house receive a knock on the door in the mid-hours of the night. What ensues is a violent invasion by three strangers, their faces hidden behind masks. The couple find themselves in a violent struggle, in which they go beyond what either of them thought capable in order to survive.

Is Punky Brewster Coming To The Big Screen?

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008 at 6:57 am

Punky Brewster

As a hardcore fan of “Punky Brewster” I don’t know where to go with this latest news. The part that adored Soleil Moon Frye and wore different colored socks wants to cry and the other part understands that this is what Hollywood does, so just let it go.

What I’ve gathered so far is Hannah Montana (Miley Cyrus) is slated to play Punky and it’ll be directed by….. dum… da…. dum… Fred Savage! I didn’t even know he was a director, but it turns out he directed, “Daddy Day Camp” and a few episodes of, “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia“. Whether or not it turns out decent, a small part of me feels like Hollywood is evil. :)

So how do you all feel about Punky Brewster being turned into a movie and Hannah Montanna aka Miley Cyrus starring in it?

Demi Moore Off To Indie Land?

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008 at 6:56 am

Since indie movies are where it’s at as of late Demi Moore, signs on to two “little pictures that could” that have some big names.

First up is Happy Tears which she is joined by Parker Posy.

Happy Tears follows a woman (Posey), prone to self-aggrandizement, who returns to her Wisconsin home and must deal with her bitter sister and her father, who suffers from a rare form of dementia. Moore plays the sister, fed up with dealing with the hateful father.

Next, she will team with Woody Harrelson and Josh Hartnett in Bunraku…

Snoot Entertainment, the company producing the later, has boasted the film’s inspiration to be a mixture of Japanese puppet-theater, video games and even German expressionism. Moore will be playing the concubine of a warlord.

Needless to say, both of these films are 110% more creative than anything her husband,
Ashton Kutcher, has been coming up with on his Pop Fiction show.

Happy Tears is set to start filming later this month.

Hayden Panettiere On The Set of, “I Love You, Beth Cooper”

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008 at 6:48 am

Hayden panettiere 1

I found these photographs at a Flynet and the captions said that Hayden Panettiere and her mom, Leslie were photographed having a fight, but other than Hayden looking a little peeved it doesn’t seem to be much “fighting”. So I’ll leave the determining up to you all.

Hayden was on the set of her new movie, “I Love You, Beth Cooper” which is being filmed in Vancouver, Canada. Here’s what I know about the plot so far:

For his high-school graduation speech, a nerdy valedictorian goes all out and declares his love for the popular cheerleader in his class.

First I have to say I’m always a fan of the “nerd” and I have no idea how it’ll turn out but there’s a good chance he’ll end up with Hayden at the end. Hayden is kind of famous for playing the cheerleader so hopefully she won’t end up to type casted in the future.
